A healthcare facility in the New Orleans area is seeking two Transplant/Clinical Pharmacist Specialists to provide expert pharmaceutical care for transplant patients during a 13-week contract assignment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a dynamic transplant program, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Location: New Orleans, LA (East Jefferson General Hospital area)

Schedule:

  • Days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Weekend rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize medication therapy for solid organ transplant patients
  • Provide clinical support and drug information related to transplant pharmacotherapy
  • Collaborate with transplant physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Use EPIC electronic medical records system to document interventions and medication plans
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust therapies accordingly

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current Louisiana pharmacist license required
  • Minimum 1 year of solid organ transplant clinical experience
  • PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant residency preferred; however, strong candidates with PGY-1 and relevant transplant support experience will be considered
  • Board Certification preferred but not required
  • Experience with EPIC electronic charting system mandatory

Additional Information:

  • This is a contract assignment beginning Monday, May 4, for a duration of 13 weeks
  • Candidates should be prepared for a weekend shift rotation as part of the schedule
