Clinical Pharmacist | Newland, North Carolina

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist focused on inpatient care. This role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use in a clinical setting. The position requires flexibility to work days or evenings, with shifts concluding by 9 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service to healthcare team members both in-person and via phone.
• Verify medication orders, checking for patient allergies, drug interactions, and appropriateness of therapy.
• Conduct medication reconciliation by comparing home medications with current orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, and healthcare team members for dosing consultations and patient care planning.
• Verify accuracy of IV admixtures, ensuring compliance with USP 797/800 standards for patient safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical record system (required).
• NC pharmacist license must be current and available.
• Candidates must live more than 40 miles from the site (local applicants not considered).
