Clinical Pharmacist - Norfolk, VA

A clinical pharmacist is needed for an inpatient role at a regional medical center near Norfolk, VA. This contract position spans 13 weeks, starting Monday, April 20. Candidates have the option to work either an evening or overnight shift based on their preference:

• Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Overnight: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday; 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (7 nights on, 7 nights off)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have a Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application (non-negotiable)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience, with preference for travel pharmacy experience
• Proficiency in IV medication administration, pain controlled analgesia, antibiotics, drug interactions, order entry, and medication order verification (required)
• Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing (preferred)
• Firm EMR knowledge: EPIC charting experience required

Responsibilities:

• Verify and enter medication orders accurately
• Monitor and manage drug interactions and patient-specific dosing adjustments
• Support clinical medication management including pain control and antibiotic stewardship
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety
