A healthcare facility specializing in pediatric care is seeking clinical pharmacists to join their team on a contract basis. This opportunity involves working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a state-of-the-art, trauma 1 teaching hospital with 359 beds. Location: North Little Rock, AR
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, temp to hire)
Schedule:
- 7 nights on / 7 nights off
- 12-hour shifts, typically from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am (flexible scheduling possible)
Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
- Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use.
- Respond to patient inquiries about medications and dosing.
- Ensure all pharmacy data is correctly recorded and complies with regulatory standards.
- Verify dosing appropriateness based on patient-specific factors such as age, weight, and diagnosis.
- Identify and resolve issues related to drug therapy including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions.
- Suggest effective, cost-efficient medication alternatives when appropriate.
- Evaluate requests for non-formulary drugs.
- Monitor patients to optimize therapeutic outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers.
- Participate in education and training for staff, technicians, and students.
- Manage medication ordering, inventory, and substitution processes as needed.
- Assist in discharge planning and provide drug information support.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in Arkansas (temporary license possible, with consideration given to candidates in the licensing process).
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
- IV experience or IV certification preferred.
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) credential is a plus.
