Join a leading 359-bed, trauma level 1 teaching hospital specializing in pediatric care as a night shift pharmacist. This contract opportunity, starting ASAP for 13 weeks with potential temp-to-hire conversion, supports a dynamic, fast-paced team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes. The hospital ranks among the top pediatric medical providers nationally and is recognized as the sole pediatric medical center in Arkansas.
Location: North Little Rock, AR
Schedule: 7 on/7 off night shifts, 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am, Thursday through Wednesday; scheduling flexibility available)

Key Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense medications according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with medical staff on drug interactions, patient histories, and therapeutic plans.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication use and dosages.
- Ensure all pharmacy documentation complies with regulatory and hospital standards.
- Verify doses appropriate to pediatric patient parameters—weight, age, diagnosis.
- Identify and manage drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, or adverse reactions.
- Evaluate formulary and non-formulary drug needs and suggest cost-effective therapies.
- Monitor patient therapy outcomes and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Educate patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students; participate in discharge planning.
- Process medication orders promptly with attention to priority and accuracy.
- Coordinate medication supply orders and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arkansas pharmacist license preferred; temporary licenses granted by the state. Candidates in the licensing process are considered.
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
- IV experience or IV certification is a plus.
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred.
