Clinical Pharmacist - North Little Rock, AR

A pediatric-focused healthcare facility with 359 beds and Level 1 trauma designation seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to join its progressive and passionate team. This direct hire opportunity offers a fast-paced, team-oriented environment in a state-of-the-art setting dedicated exclusively to pediatric care.

Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location:

• North Little Rock, AR

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense prescribed medications according to physician orders
• Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
• Provide medication counseling to patients and respond to dosage inquiries
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory and hospital procedures
• Verify dosing appropriateness based on pediatric patient weight, age, diagnosis, and body surface area
• Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, or adverse reactions
• Recommend cost-effective, efficacious therapeutic alternatives when appropriate
• Evaluate the need and approval for non-formulary drugs
• Monitor medication quality, preparation, labeling, and administration accuracy
• Prioritize and process medication orders efficiently and timely
• Serve as a clinical resource in patient care areas and collaborate on optimizing therapeutic outcomes
• Participate in patient, technician, pharmacist, and student education and discharge planning
• Handle drug information requests and assist with drug utilization reviews
• Manage medication and supply inventory, ordering, substitutions, and coordination of recalls
• Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Arkansas pharmacy license required
• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred but new graduates encouraged to apply
• IV experience or IV certification is a plus
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
