A hospital with 359 beds, recognized as a leading pediatric trauma center and teaching facility, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join its progressive and collaborative team. This state-of-the-art medical center serves as the only pediatric medical center in its state and ranks among the largest pediatric providers nationally. The role offers day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, fostering a dynamic work environment focused on high standards of patient care and pharmaceutical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately according to physician instructions.
  • Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use.
  • Address patient inquiries concerning medication and dosage.
  • Maintain pharmacy data records while adhering to regulatory and security guidelines.
  • Verify dosing appropriateness relative to patient diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area.
  • Identify and intervene in issues related to drug therapy including allergies and adverse drug reactions.
  • Evaluate and recommend drug therapies, including cost-effective alternatives.
  • Ensure all medications meet quality standards with proper labeling and preparation.
  • Prioritize and process medication orders efficiently and timely.
  • Participate in patient care areas, monitoring therapeutic outcomes and advising healthcare providers.
  • Educate patients, pharmacy staff, and students; engage in discharge planning.
  • Manage drug information requests and drug utilization reviews.
  • Coordinate medication supply, manage back orders, and substitute items as needed.
  • Assist with inventory control and departmental duties as required.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in Arkansas.
  • Minimum of two years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience or certification in IV therapy preferred.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation is a plus.
  • Recent graduates with strong potential are encouraged to apply.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
