A healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist for daytime shifts to provide essential support amid a severely short-staffed environment. This opportunity offers the chance to deliver critical pharmaceutical care in a dynamic hospital setting with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The role requires adaptability and a flexible approach to scheduling, with variable hours ranging from approximately 16 to 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate closely with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care
- Apply principles of pharmacokinetics to assist in therapeutic drug monitoring
- Operate and manage medication dispensing using Pyxis automated cabinets
- Utilize Paragon and Allscripts order entry systems for accurate documentation and workflow
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid pharmacist license with current, unrestricted credentials
- Experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy setting preferred
- Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing systems
- Proficient in using Allscripts and Paragon pharmacy order entry systems
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to manage fluctuating workloads with flexibility, including potential floating to sister hospitals within a 10-15 mile radius

- Hospital facility located in Norwalk, CA, with opportunities to work in nearby sister hospitals
Schedule:
- Variable day and afternoon shifts
