Travel Inpatient Pharmacist

A hospital in Oneonta, NY is looking for an experienced inpatient pharmacist for an ASAP travel assignment. This is a great opportunity for a New York-licensed pharmacist with recent hospital and sterile compounding experience looking for a 13-week contract in Upstate New York.

Position Details

• Position: Inpatient Staff Pharmacist
• Location: Oneonta, NY
• Type: Travel Contract
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Travel: Full travel package including housing, meals, and mileage
• Weekend/Holiday: Not currently anticipated
• On-Call: No formal rotation currently, but potential for approximately 2–3 nights per week per pharmacist

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Department hours: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Multiple shift options available between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM
• Potential every 3rd weekend rotation depending on staffing needs

Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense inpatient medication orders
• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing, including vancomycin and aminoglycosides
• Support general inpatient pharmacy operations
• Provide clinical pharmacy support
• Potential coverage at a nearby hospital as needed

Requirements

• Active New York Pharmacist License — required
• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Sterile compounding experience required
• Experience with USP 797 and USP 800
• Experience overseeing technicians performing sterile compounding
• Comfortable with gloving, garbing, hand hygiene, fingertip testing, and media-fill competency
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD
• Epic and Pyxis experience preferred
• Must complete onsite competency validation
• Minimum 2 weeks of onsite orientation/training before working independently

Additional Details

• No routine expectation to participate in codes, rapid responses, rounds, or antimicrobial stewardship
• BLS, ACLS, and board certification are not required
• Traveler should be comfortable with potential on-call and float coverage
