Clinical Pharmacist in Pineville, LA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a large community hospital with over 200 beds, providing comprehensive care and advanced patient services. This contract position offers a dynamic environment where your expertise supports high-quality medication management and collaborative healthcare delivery.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA (nearby to Pineville, LA)

Schedule:

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with varied shift times: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough order verification to ensure safe and effective medication use
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, maintaining workflow and accuracy
• Provide clinical consultation to physicians and nurses, supporting optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize pharmacokinetics principles to adjust dosing and monitor therapy effectiveness
• Operate pharmacy IT systems including EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Louisiana with an active license
• Proven clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and clinical drug therapy
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team
• Ability to adapt to a rotating schedule and provide weekend coverage
