Clinical Pharmacist | Pineville, Louisiana

A 200+ bed community hospital in the Alexandria, LA area is seeking a clinical pharmacist for a contract assignment. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced hospital environment. The assignment is set to begin ASAP and extend for approximately 13 weeks.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with varying hours: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow and quality standards
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize pharmacotherapy plans
• Manage pharmacokinetics monitoring and dosing adjustments
• Utilize healthcare technologies including EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems

Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with hospital clinical experience
• Familiarity with order verification and verification protocols
• Skilled in collaborating with healthcare professionals in inpatient settings
• Working knowledge of EPIC and Pyxis preferred
• Ability to supervise pharmacy support staff effectively
