An opportunity for clinical pharmacists to develop expertise across multiple acute care units awaits in a dynamic hospital setting located in the beautiful State College, PA area, home to Penn State. This direct-hire position offers the chance to work as a unit-based clinical pharmacist in both the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), as well as contribute to the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where pharmacists may be assigned to a single unit, this role provides a diverse clinical experience that broadens skillsets and enhances professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform medication order entry and verification, ensuring appropriateness through thorough profile review
- Provide clinical services tailored to specific patient populations in the ED and ICU settings
- Offer drug information support and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and teams
- Monitor drug therapy and manage pharmacist-driven consults following established protocols
- Actively engage in acute patient care scenarios, including cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma cases
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) residency or a minimum of three years’ clinical pharmacy experience
- Valid Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Proficiency with Meditech pharmacy information systems preferred
Schedule and Location:
- Primarily day shifts with some variable days and afternoons; 8-hour shifts
