Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist in Pittsburgh, PA

A Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available in Pittsburgh, PA, offering 24 hours per week within a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. This per diem position provides ongoing assignments with an initial one-month timeline and possible extension.

The role requires proficiency with pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to support medication management for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. Key responsibilities include verifying orders entered by data entry technicians, reviewing blister packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations. The pharmacist will also respond to clinical inquiries from nurses and physicians, manage controlled substance inventories, and maintain emergency medication boxes.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active Registered Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience, preferably in Long Term Care (LTC)
• Strong sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Primary Duties:

• Check and verify medication orders for accuracy and compliance
• Review blister packed and compounded medications
• Provide clinical support by answering inquiries from nursing and hospice staff
• Count and document controlled substances in perpetual inventory
• Maintain emergency medication supplies
