Clinical Pharmacist in Pollock, LA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a community hospital with over 200 beds in the Alexandria, LA area. This contract position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment supporting patient care through medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule varying between 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM shifts
• Every other weekend required

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide guidance as needed
• Consult with physicians and nurses regarding pharmacotherapy and patient care plans
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize dosing regimens
• Utilize healthcare technology including EPIC electronic health record system and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with current state licensure
• Experience in clinical pharmacy within hospital settings preferred
• Proficiency with medication order verification and pharmacokinetics
• Skilled in collaborating within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
