Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Portsmouth, Virginia

A Clinical Pharmacist opportunity is available at a reputable medical center, specializing in inpatient care and offering a dynamic, 13-week contract starting Tuesday, May 26th. This role involves working rotating shifts, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and manage all aspects of order entry
• Administer and monitor IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics
• Identify and manage drug interactions to ensure patient safety
• Participate in the preparation and administration of chemotherapy (preferred)
• Apply anticoagulant protocols and engage in pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred)
• Utilize EMR systems, specifically EPIC charting, to maintain accurate patient records

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience is required
• Proven expertise with IV therapy, pain management, antibiotics, and drug interactions
• Familiarity with chemotherapy agents, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic, and renal dosing is a plus
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is mandatory
• Prior travel pharmacy experience is preferred but not required
