Clinical Pharmacist | Portsmouth, Virginia

A Clinical Pharmacist role is available on a 13-week contract assignment in Portsmouth, VA, offering multiple shift options to fit varying schedules, including day, evening, and overnight hours:

• Day shifts: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
• Evening shifts: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
• Overnight shifts: 1930–0730, 2030–

This position requires an active Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application. Candidates must have at least 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience, with travel experience considered a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems is mandatory, with firm experience in EPIC charting highly preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing medication order entry and verification with accuracy and attention to detail
• Administering and managing IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics
• Monitoring drug interactions to ensure patient safety
• Supporting chemotherapy medication management, anticoagulants handling, and applying pharmacokinetic and renal dosing principles (preferred)

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Valid VA pharmacist license (required)
• Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience
• Strong knowledge of IV medications and pain management protocols
• Familiarity with antibiotic therapies and drug interaction analysis
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (required)
• Chemotherapy, anticoagulant, pharmacokinetic, and renal dosing experience (preferred)
