Clinical Pharmacist - Richmond, TX

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a women’s healthcare facility operating overnight shifts. This 14-week contract position begins on 5/18 and offers a consistent schedule working 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves supporting pharmaceutical care for patients ranging from newborns to adults, ensuring safe and effective medication management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the medication process by identifying and preventing drug-related problems, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Verify appropriateness of medication dosages according to diagnosis, patient weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders using EPIC electronic medical records, maintaining a high standard of precision.
• Guarantee that patients receive the correct medications, monitoring for and preventing dispensing errors.
• Process medication orders and deliver doses within established timeframes and guidelines.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols during the preparation of sterile products, ensuring compliance with annual recertification requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists to maintain the highest standards of medication safety.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience is highly preferred.
• Current Texas pharmacist license.
• ACPE IV Certification (Intravenous Certification) is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control practices.
