A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a women’s healthcare pavilion for overnight shifts, providing specialized pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced hospital environment. This contract role requires dedicated pharmacists to manage medication processes, prevent and resolve drug-related issues, and ensure safe and effective medication use for patients ranging from pediatric to adult.

Location:

  • Richmond, TX

Schedule:

  • Overnight shifts, 7 on/7 off
  • 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Contract duration: 14 weeks, starting 5/18

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage medication dosing with careful consideration of patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the electronic medical record system (EPIC) to eliminate errors.
  • Confirm that dispensed medications are correct, minimizing dispensing errors.
  • Ensure timely processing of medication orders and delivery of doses according to established guidelines.
  • Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control standards during sterile product preparation.
  • Enforce compliance with aseptic procedures among pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
  • Maintain re-certification in aseptic technique/infection control, scoring at least 90% on related exams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience, with a preference for pediatric expertise.
  • Licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas.
  • ACPE IV Certification required.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system is highly valued.
