A permanent opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to serve as a unit-based clinical expert working across Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services. This role offers a unique chance to develop broad clinical expertise by rotating through multiple acute care units, including participation on the antibiotic stewardship team, supporting complex patient populations.
Location: State College, PA
Schedule: Variable days and afternoons with primarily 8-hour day shifts
Technology: Meditech system
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and verify medication orders while conducting thorough medication profile reviews to ensure appropriateness and safety
- Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to the needs of patients in ED and critical care settings
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and teams as assigned by practice area
- Monitor drug therapy and conduct pharmacist-led consults following established protocols
- Engage actively in acute patient management during cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, trauma, and other emergency scenarios
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- Completion of a PGY1 residency or a minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Pennsylvania pharmacist license preferred, but out-of-state candidates capable and willing to obtain licensure are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
