A full-time infusion pharmacist opportunity is available for direct hire in Sacramento, CA, offering a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with on-call duties every third weekend. Immediate start is preferred.
This role focuses on providing clinical pharmacy services related to chronic and acute infusion therapies within a collaborative, team-based care environment. High-touch patient care and pharmacy production are central to this position, supporting optimal patient outcomes through comprehensive clinical and dispensing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring of infusion therapies prescribed by authorized medical personnel.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations, including USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, maintaining adherence to quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with nursing, admissions, reimbursement, sales, and marketing teams to coordinate pharmacy services and enhance patient care.
- Support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives actively.
- Participate in staff orientation, training, and preceptor roles for pharmacy interns.
- Act as a clinical resource for sales and marketing activities, including customer presentations and clinical reviews.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and assist with insurance authorization and audit processes.
- Participate in pharmacy on-call rotation to ensure continuous support.
- Support procurement and inventory control procedures alongside corporate clinical services.
Qualifications:
- Prior infusion pharmacy experience highly preferred; specialty pharmacy experience considered.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and clinical pharmacy practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Experience with CPR+ and CareTend systems is a plus.
