A non-profit health system in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for a key role in their oncology program. Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive medication management, including ordering labs, therapy selection, and adverse event management
- Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage, and safety
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and manage chemotherapy side effects to optimize adherence
- Collaborate with providers and nurses during clinical rounds to make informed treatment decisions
- Participate in clinical trials, manage investigational drugs, and develop institutional oncology protocols and guidelines
Qualifications:
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Eligibility to obtain California pharmacist license
- Completion of PGY2 or oncology fellowship; or PGY1 plus 3 years as a clinical oncology specialist; or 5 years as a clinical oncology specialist
- Board certification in oncology (BCOP) strongly preferred
