A leading non-profit health system in Santa Barbara, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with expertise in Oncology to provide both inpatient and outpatient infusion care. This opportunity offers the chance to serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating closely with providers and nursing staff to optimize oncology medication management and patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medication management including ordering lab tests, therapy selection, and managing adverse effects.
  • Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and chemotherapy side effects, promoting medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams during clinical rounds to guide treatment decisions.
  • Participate in clinical trials, manage investigational drugs, and contribute to institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required.
  • Eligibility to obtain California pharmacist license.
  • Completion of an oncology PGY2 residency or fellowship, OR PGY1 plus 3 years of oncology clinical specialist experience, OR 5 years as an oncology clinical specialist.
  • Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) preferred.
  • Strong clinical background in oncology pharmacy preferred over staffing experience.

Location:

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, day shifts.
