A leading non-profit health system in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with expertise in oncology to join their team. This direct hire position offers the opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful and desirable locations in the U.S., with excellent weather and a supportive community.

Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medication management, including lab test ordering, therapy selection, and adverse event management.
  • Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and safety.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, manage chemotherapy side effects, and promote medication adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with providers and nurses in treatment decision-making during clinical rounds.
  • Participate in clinical trials, oversee investigational drugs, and contribute to developing institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
  • Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license
  • PGY2 residency or fellowship in oncology, OR PGY1 plus 3 years of clinical oncology specialist experience, OR 5 years as a clinical oncology specialist
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) preferred
  • Proven clinical expertise rather than staffing experience
