A Clinical Pharmacy Specialist role in Oncology is available with a distinguished non-profit health system serving Santa Barbara County. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced clinical expertise in a dynamic environment, supporting both inpatient and outpatient infusion oncology programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive medication management, including lab test ordering, therapy selection, and adverse event management.
- Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, manage chemotherapy side effects, and enhance medication adherence.
- Collaborate closely with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to inform treatment decisions.
- Engage in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug management, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
- Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license.
- Completion of PGY2 residency or oncology fellowship, OR PGY1 plus a minimum of three years as a clinical oncology specialist, OR five years of oncology clinical specialist experience.
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred.
