A clinical pharmacist role is available in an infusion pharmacy setting, supporting oncology care in Santa Barbara, CA. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule, focusing on enhancing patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary oncology team.

Responsibilities include providing cancer therapy education, monitoring treatment toxicity, and managing supportive care for patients and caregivers. The pharmacist collaborates closely with oncology providers, contributing to informed treatment decisions and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. This position also involves serving as a trusted resource for evidence-based pharmacological treatments and facilitating access to clinical services.

Core duties:

  • Prospectively review patient charts to identify and prevent medication-related issues
  • Assess treatment appropriateness using clinical guidelines and current literature
  • Discuss treatment options considering disease status, such as initial therapy or relapse
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and safety based on evidence-based standards
  • Personalize treatment plans to optimize drug therapy for individual patient needs
  • Educate healthcare providers and patients about cancer therapies and supportive care

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacist license
  • Current or recent experience in oncology pharmacy practice

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, day shifts
