A leading non-profit health system serving Santa Barbara County is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with a focus on oncology to provide expert clinical support in both inpatient and outpatient infusion settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medication management including ordering laboratory tests, selecting optimal therapies, and managing adverse drug events.
  • Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols, ensuring accuracy, appropriate dosing, and patient safety.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment regimens, manage chemotherapy side effects, and promote medication adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to guide treatment decisions during clinical rounds.
  • Participate in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug use, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license (license not required at time of application).
  • Completion of PGY2 residency or oncology fellowship; alternatively, PGY1 plus 3 years of oncology clinical specialist experience; or 5 years of oncology clinical specialist experience.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred.
  • Proven clinical expertise in oncology beyond staffing roles.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
