A Clinical Pharmacist opportunity in Silt, CO is available for a contract assignment starting ASAP with a projected end date around August 15, 2026. This role requires a pharmacy professional with strong clinical expertise, particularly with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) systems, to support a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic.
Schedule:
- Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
- Start times 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
- Rotating weekends 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately based on physician prescriptions
- Maintain medication stock within patient care areas to ensure availability
- Interpret medication orders and maintain electronic patient medication profiles
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, especially regarding controlled substances
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosage appropriateness
- Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing adhering to hospital protocol
- Review cultures and sensitivity data to recommend appropriate antibiotic therapies
- Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly
- Provide clinical consultation and therapeutic alternatives to medical staff to promote cost-effective treatment
- Document clinical activities and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Deliver education and training to pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff as needed
- Act as a member of the facility’s Code Response Team
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Must have EPIC EMR experience; Meditech knowledge is a plus
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) between October 1 and April 1
