A critical access hospital with 25 beds in Iowa is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations during a 13-week contract starting mid-to-late May. This opportunity offers a dedicated weekday schedule, focusing on impactful clinical pharmacy practices in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and assisting with workflow management
- Consulting with physicians and nurses to optimize medication regimens
- Applying pharmacokinetic principles to individualize patient care
- Contributing to clinical decision-making and patient safety initiatives
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a clinical role
- An active Iowa pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a temporary Iowa license
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Detail-oriented approach to medication management and patient care
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Day shifts, 8 hours per day
