This opportunity is for a Clinical Pharmacist providing expert pharmaceutical care in an inpatient setting. The position is located in Suffolk, VA and offers a 13-week contract assignment. A valid Virginia pharmacy license is required at the time of application.
Shift options include day, evening, and overnight, with specific hours as follows:
- Day shifts: 06:30 – 15:00, 07:30 – 16:00, 09:00 – 17:30, 10:00 – 18:30
- Evening shifts: 13:00 – 21:30, 14:30 – 23:00
- Overnight shifts: 19:30 – 07:30, 20:30 – [end time varies]
Key responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders, providing clinical evaluations for pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and addressing drug interactions. Accurate order entry and diligent medication verification are crucial components of this role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Virginia pharmacist license (mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
- IV medication expertise with pain management and antibiotic protocols
- Proficient in drug interaction assessments and order verification
- Prior experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing preferred
- Experience working with EPIC electronic medical records system (required)
- Travel pharmacy experience is an asset but not required
