Clinical Pharmacist - Tacoma, WA

This opportunity is for a clinical pharmacist with a strong foundation in inpatient pharmacy operations and a preference for experience in chemotherapy and oncology. The role is located in the Tacoma, WA area and offers a contract position with a potential to transition to permanent employment.

Responsibilities include supporting distribution functions within the inpatient pharmacy, verifying medication orders using Epic, and performing final product verification checks to ensure accuracy and patient safety. Providing clinical consultation and answering drug information queries are key aspects of the role. Additionally, you will oversee pharmacy technician activities and participate in Code Blue or emergency responses, demonstrating critical decision-making skills under pressure. Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems is essential for success in this position.

Schedule:

• Variable days and afternoon shifts
• 8-hour shifts

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist licensure
• Experience in inpatient pharmacy, preferably within clinical settings
• High preference for candidates with experience in chemotherapy/oncology
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to handle emergency situations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for technician oversight

This contract is expected to last approximately 16 weeks with an ASAP start and offers the possibility of converting to permanent status. The role offers valuable exposure to clinical pharmacy operations in a dynamic hospital environment.
