A healthcare facility in Taunton, MA is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist for a 6-8 week contract, with potential for conversion based on performance and fit. The position requires a Massachusetts pharmacist license and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical setting with collaborative healthcare professionals.

Location: Taunton, MA
Contract Duration: Approximately 6-8 weeks
Schedule:

  • Primarily 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Flexibility to assist during 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM shifts as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect patterns of over-usage
  • Ensure that pharmaceutical supplies comply with legal regulations
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines for patients
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
  • Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions
  • Provide clinical services including smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the correct handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following safety protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies effectively
  • Identify and communicate drug-related problems with healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare team members

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license (in-hand required)
  • Clinical pharmacy experience preferred, but retail pharmacists open to training
  • Ability to adapt to varied work shifts and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
