Clinical Pharmacist - Taunton, MA

A Clinical Pharmacist position is available for a 6-8 week contract in Taunton, MA, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent role if there is a strong fit. This role requires a flexible schedule primarily covering shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional support needed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient medication compliance and usage patterns, and ensuring medication supply is compliant with legal standards. The pharmacist will verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and maintain accurate, confidential patient records. The role involves providing counseling to patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answering inquiries. Additional services include smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, and educating patients on medical device use.

The pharmacist will compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions adhering to proper procedures. Supervisory duties over pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks are expected. Maintaining pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory is also required. Effective communication with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related problems is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Massachusetts pharmacist license in-hand
• Experience in clinical pharmacy preferred; retail pharmacists will be considered and trained
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy team members
