This opportunity invites clinical pharmacists with inpatient experience to contribute to the pharmaceutical care at a major Los Angeles County health system hospital. Ideal candidates include those with a PGY I residency or approximately two years of current inpatient pharmacy experience. This contract position supports operational needs while providing a pathway to a permanent role within a well-established county health system known for its robust benefits and union protections.
Location:
- Hospital setting in Torrance, CA within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System.
Schedule:
- Primarily 8-hour shifts.
- Flexibility required to cover first and second shifts; occasional third shift coverage may occur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication management and patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate proficiency by passing a required competency examination prior to assignment start.
- Adhere to all hospital and county protocols including background checks and credentialing procedures.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PGY I residency strongly preferred, though all qualified pharmacists will be considered.
- Approximately 2 years of current inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across assigned shifts.
Contract and Progression:
- Contract positions last between 4 to 12 months, initially.
