A prominent medical center in State College, PA is seeking skilled Clinical Pharmacists to join their team in permanent roles. This position offers the unique opportunity to work across both the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), as well as contribute to the hospital’s antibiotic stewardship initiatives. Unlike larger hospitals where clinical pharmacists may be restricted to a single unit, here you will enhance your expertise by managing diverse patient populations across multiple critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and verify medication orders, review medication profiles for clinical appropriateness
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to the specific needs of ED and ICU patients
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Monitor drug therapy and provide pharmacist-managed consults as per protocols
  • Actively engage in acute patient scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma situations

Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
  • PGY1 residency or at least 3 years of current clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a PA license
  • Candidates without a PA license are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in ED or critical care settings is a plus

Location & Schedule:

  • Position based in State College, PA—home to the beautiful Penn State University area
  • 8-hour mostly day shifts with some variable days and afternoon schedules
