This opportunity calls for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in infusion services, offering part-time support (2-3 days per week) with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is based in Turlock, CA, and the start date is ASAP with an ongoing duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate physician prescription orders for appropriate dosage, drug selection, potential interactions, route of administration, and stability.
- Maintain comprehensive patient database, including vital clinical and medication history information.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by assisting with documentation for state, federal, and accrediting agencies.
- Order and interpret clinical laboratory tests related to medication safety and efficacy, collaborating closely with healthcare providers.
- Provide clinical support and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and caregivers.
- Oversee sterile compounding and quality assurance programs, including validation and environmental testing.
- Train and supervise pharmacy personnel such as technicians and interns.
- Document all professional communications in patient medical records.
- Promote safety by adhering to sound pharmacy practice standards.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- California pharmacist license in good standing.
- Strong background in IV/infusion therapy and clinical pharmacy.
- Prior experience in home infusion pharmacy highly preferred.
- Recent graduates with IV/TPN experience during APPEs or internships are encouraged to apply; training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude.
System Experience:
- Familiarity with CareTend electronic system.
