This travel role offers an opportunity to provide expert clinical pharmacy services in a critical access hospital setting located in Vanderwagen, NM. As the Interim Pharmacist, you will be essential in maintaining high-quality inpatient care until a permanent hire is in place. The assignment is expected to begin on August 1, 2026, and extend for approximately three months or longer, with 40 hours per week on a Monday through Friday day shift schedule (7 a.m. to 4 p.m. or similar). On-call duties may be required for after-hours support.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical pharmaceutical care to inpatients, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
  • Manage order entry utilizing the Cerner system with support from Pyxis automation.
  • Participate in sterile compounding activities as part of the medication preparation process.
  • Collaborate closely with a team comprising the Director of Pharmacy, two pharmacists, and two pharmacy technicians.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and New Mexico state licensure requirements.
  • Provide on-call pharmacy support as needed.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current New Mexico pharmacist licensure is mandatory.
  • Experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Familiarity with Cerner order entry and Pyxis automation systems preferred.
  • Competence in sterile compounding procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Comfortable with business casual dress code and professional conduct in a clinical environment.

Location and Travel: Based in Vanderwagen, NM, with convenient access to Farmington, Albuquerque, and Phoenix airports. Flexible travel arrangements may be required for the duration of the assignment.
