Clinical Pharmacist | Virginia Beach, Virginia

An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in inpatient care, based at a medical center in Virginia Beach, VA. This 13-week contract position offers a choice between evening and overnight shifts, providing flexibility to fit your schedule preferences.

Schedule Options:

• Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Overnight: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM (Monday through Thursday)
• Overnight: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM (Friday through Sunday)
  (Note: Overnight shifts follow a 7 nights on/7 nights off pattern)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Manage pain control analgesia and antibiotic therapies
• Monitor drug interactions and perform order entry
• Utilize clinical judgment for pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred)
• Handle chemotherapy medications and anticoagulants as applicable (preferred)
• Document thoroughly using EPIC electronic medical records system

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license is mandatory at time of application
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience
• Strong clinical knowledge in IV medication administration, pain management, antibiotics, and drug interactions
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC EMR system (mandatory)
• Experience with chemotherapy, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, and anticoagulants is advantageous
• Prior travel pharmacy assignments are a plus
