Clinical Pharmacist | Virginia Beach, Virginia

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an inpatient clinical pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a busy hospital setting. This role requires working rotating shifts and will begin on Tuesday, May 26th. The position emphasizes patient safety and effective medication management within an electronic medical records environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately, ensuring compliance with hospital policies
• Manage IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotic therapies
• Identify and assess drug interactions and contraindications for optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC EMR system for accurate medication order entry and clinical documentation
• Support pharmacokinetic dosing and renal dosing where applicable
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide clinical recommendations and ensure safe medication use

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel pharmacy experience is a strong plus
• Proven skills with IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interaction management
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing preferred
• Proficient in EPIC charting system (firm requirement)
• Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and communication skills
