Clinical Pharmacist | Virginia Beach, Virginia

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist in Virginia Beach, VA. This role involves supporting inpatient pharmacy operations with a focus on medication management and patient care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shifts: 0630 – 1500, 0730 – 1600, 0900 – 1730, 1000 – 1830
• Evening shifts: 1300 – 2130, 1430 – 2300
• Overnight shifts: 1930 – 0730, 2030 – (end time varies)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and enter orders accurately
• Manage IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics
• Identify and assess drug interactions to ensure patient safety
• Perform pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred)
• Handle chemotherapy and anticoagulant medications (preferred)
• Utilize EPIC for medication order entry and clinical documentation

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist License at the time of application (mandatory)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required
• IV medication management and order verification experience strongly required
• Familiarity with pharmacokinetics, renal dosing, chemotherapy, and anticoagulants preferred
• EPIC electronic medical record experience (mandatory)
• Prior travel pharmacy experience is a plus

This role requires a pharmacist who can work independently within a fast-paced inpatient environment while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. Flexibility with shift assignments is necessary.
