An immediate opening exists for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist specializing in bespoke pharmaceutical preparations tailored to individual patient needs. This role is based in Kennett Square, PA, within a specialty compounding pharmacy known for personalized medication solutions. The term of assignment is a 13-week contract with potential for hire.
Working under the guidance of the Pharmacy Supervisor, you will collaborate with both Sterile and Non-Sterile Production departments to ensure all compounded medications meet stringent State and Federal regulations. The position demands meticulous attention to detail and adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards. Providing support to prescription dispensing personnel and ensuring accurate preparation and patient counseling are vital components of daily responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Validating the accuracy and compliance of sterile and non-sterile compounded preparations against master formula worksheets
- Implementing and upholding standard operating procedures (SOPs) to safeguard patient safety
- Ensuring thorough cleaning and garbing practices
- Performing precise calculations and documentation
- Operating production and computerized equipment according to policies
- Maintaining aseptic techniques and preparing work areas prior to production
- Conducting quality control tests and inspections to verify potency, purity, and quality of medications
- Staying current with advancements in compounding techniques and technologies through ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license
- Recent experience in pharmacy practice
- Proven background in sterile compounding is required
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
