Clinical Pharmacist | West Chester, Pennsylvania

A specialty compounding pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding to support patient-specific pharmaceutical preparations. This contract position, located near West Chester, PA, offers an opportunity to work within a compliance-driven environment focused on personalized medicine. The assignment is expected to last approximately 13 weeks with potential to transition into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compounded sterile and non-sterile preparations are accurate and fully comply with master formula worksheets.
• Implement and follow SOPs and policies to guarantee patient safety and adherence to state and federal regulations.
• Maintain strict compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines governing sterile and non-sterile compounding.
• Oversee cleaning and garbing procedures per company policy.
• Perform calculations, complete necessary documentation, and operate production equipment with precision.
• Apply appropriate aseptic techniques to maintain medication quality, purity, and potency.
• Prepare work areas thoroughly before production activities.
• Conduct quality control tests and inspections to verify compound accuracy.
• Stay current on emerging compounding techniques, formulations, and technologies through continuous professional development.
• Provide support and counseling to prescription dispensing personnel and assist patients with compounded and other medications.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability, as consistent presence is critical to operational success.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with clinical experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding.
• Strong knowledge of USP compounding standards (<795>, <797>, <800>).
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and production equipment used in compounding pharmacies.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills to provide patient care and team collaboration.
• Ability to adapt to assigned shifts after training completion.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm or 9:00am–5:30pm.
• Possible assignment to Monday to Friday, 10:30am–7:00pm shift after training.
