A critical need has arisen for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in sterile and non-sterile compounding, available for a 13-week contract to hire opportunity at a specialty compounding pharmacy. This facility focuses on bespoke pharmaceutical preparations, creating personalized compounds tailored to individual patient needs.
Location: West Chester, PA
Type: Contract to Hire (13 weeks)
Shifts:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM OR 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Possible shift assignment post-training: Monday - Friday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure sterile and non-sterile compounded preparations comply accurately with master formula worksheets and regulatory standards.
- Follow and implement SOPs and policies to guarantee patient safety and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines for compounding practices.
- Oversee cleaning and garbing procedures according to company policies.
- Perform necessary calculations and thorough documentation.
- Operate production equipment with precision and adhere to all operational protocols.
- Apply correct aseptic techniques and prepare work areas for compounding production.
- Conduct quality control tests and inspections to assure the quality, purity, and potency of compounded medications.
- Stay current with advances in compounding formulations, techniques, and technology through continuous professional development.
- Provide patient counseling on compounded, prescription, and over-the-counter medications as needed.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license required.
- Recent experience in pharmacy practice.
- Background in sterile compounding is essential.
- Strong attendance and reliability are critical to success in this role.
