A Specialty Compounding Pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support both Sterile and Non-Sterile Production departments, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and providing expert guidance during medication preparation and dispensing. This contract-to-hire role is critical to the operation, emphasizing strict adherence to quality, safety standards, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy and compliance of sterile and non-sterile compounded preparations per master formula worksheets.
- Implement and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
- Supervise cleaning and garbing policies according to company standards.
- Perform calculations and proper documentation related to compounding.
- Operate production and computerized equipment with precision.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during sterile preparations.
- Prepare work areas thoroughly before production.
- Monitor quality control tests to assure medication potency, purity, and safety.
- Stay current with new compounding methods, formulations, and technologies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Provide patient counseling on compounded, prescription, and OTC medications.
- Support prescription dispensing personnel during shifts.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist license required.
- Recent pharmacy experience, specifically in sterile compounding.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability; attendance is critical.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
- Potential assignment to 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM shift after training.
