A specialty compounding pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in both sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations to support patient-specific, personalized medication needs. Reporting to the Pharmacy Supervisor, the pharmacist will play a key role in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining the highest standards in compounding, and providing patient counseling on compounded and traditional medications.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and verify the accuracy and compliance of sterile and non-sterile compounded preparations according to master formula worksheets.
- Implement and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure strict compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
- Oversee cleaning and garbing procedures in line with company policies.
- Perform precise calculations and complete required documentation.
- Operate production and computerized equipment accurately and maintain quality control.
- Prepare and maintain sterile work environments, applying correct aseptic techniques.
- Conduct quality control tests and inspections to assure medication purity, potency, and safety.
- Stay current with advancements in compounding techniques, formulations, and technologies.
- Provide patient care and counseling focused on compounded, prescription, and over-the-counter medications.
- Support prescription dispensing personnel as needed during shifts.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania.
- Recent pharmacy experience, with a background in sterile compounding.
- Open to new graduates who have completed relevant training and certification.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to patient safety.
Location: West Chester, PA
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (may be assigned)
