Clinical Pharmacist in West Jefferson, NC

Provide advanced pharmaceutical care in a clinical inpatient setting, ensuring patient safety and effective medication management in a dynamic healthcare environment. This 13-week contract opportunity is based in West Jefferson, NC, offering shifts during the days and evenings, with no work scheduled past 9 pm.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to healthcare team members both in person and by phone.
• Verify medication orders thoroughly, checking for patient allergies, drug interactions, disease-state considerations, and appropriate therapeutic use.
• Conduct medication reconciliation by comparing home medications against reports, consult on dosing, and collaborate with physicians, residents, and healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Inspect IV admixtures for accuracy and compliance with USP 797/800 guidelines to maintain patient safety.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
• Valid North Carolina pharmacist license in hand.
• Candidates must reside more than 40 miles from West Jefferson, NC.
