A growing specialty pharmacy is seeking experienced IV Pharmacists to support its expanding operation in Westerville, OH. This direct hire opportunity offers two key positions: an IV Lead Pharmacist and an IV Staff Pharmacist, both focused on delivering expert clinical care in a closed-door Long Term Care setting specializing in complex medication therapies.
Work Schedule:
- IV Lead Pharmacist: 1st shift, flexible Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- IV Staff Pharmacist: 2nd shift, flexible Mon–Fri 4:30 PM–12:00 AM or 6:00 PM–2:30 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile IV medications including hazardous drugs, TPN, and biologics in compliance with USP 797/800 standards and pharmacy protocols
- Evaluate and monitor complex drug therapies for safety and effectiveness, particularly for chronic and critical conditions like oncology, immunology, and transplant patients
- Educate patients on medication administration and management of side effects to promote adherence and positive outcomes
- Ensure regulatory compliance through strict documentation, cleanroom management, and adherence to state and federal laws
- Collaborate closely with healthcare teams including nurses, physicians, and case managers to optimize patient care and medication delivery
- Manage prior authorizations, inventory control, and clinical monitoring to maintain seamless pharmacy operations
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active Ohio pharmacist license required
- Strong expertise in sterile compounding and IV medication preparation
- Clinical pharmacy background with demonstrated knowledge in complex therapies and patient care
- Familiarity with USP 797/800 standards and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Experience in Long Term Care or specialty pharmacy settings is a plus
