A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available supporting outpatient oncology infusion services within a respected healthcare system located in the Los Angeles area. This contract position requires strong expertise in chemotherapy and infusion protocols. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing for consistent daytime hours.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify intravenous (IV) medication orders for oncology patients.
- Maintain adherence to USP 797 and 800 standards to ensure safe preparation and handling.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize chemotherapy protocols and patient outcomes.
- Utilize EPIC for medication order verification and documentation.
- Provide clinical guidance related to chemotherapy and oncology pharmacy practice.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist with solid clinical experience in chemotherapy and oncology.
- Strong background in IV medication preparation and verification processes.
- In-depth knowledge of USP 797 and 800 sterile compounding standards.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced outpatient infusion environment.
