Clinical Pharmacist in Whittier, CA

A clinical pharmacist is urgently needed to support nighttime operations at a healthcare facility in Whittier, CA. This assignment is crucial due to an emergency situation involving a Pyxis system crisis and a mandate from the California Department of Public Health requiring pharmacist coverage during night shifts. This role offers a highly rewarding schedule with competitive pay, including overtime compensation.

Schedule & Hours:

• Full-time, 4 nights per week
• 12-hour shifts (48 hours/week)
• Overtime paid after 8 hours per shift

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical pharmacy services during night shifts, ensuring safe and effective medication use
• Manage inpatient pharmacy operations aligned with compliance standards
• Address Pyxis system challenges and collaborate with clinical teams to resolve medication issues
• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements, including those set by CDPH

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with at least basic inpatient experience
• Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and compliance
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot automated medication systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during night hours
