Clinical Pharmacist - Whittier, California

This full-time, on-site Clinical Pharmacist position is focused on providing expert clinical and dispensing services for infusion and specialty medications. The role emphasizes infusion therapy with a specialty in neurology and oncology, requiring strong clinical expertise to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying prescriptions, performing thorough clinical assessments, and ensuring appropriate medication selection and dosing in line with evidence-based guidelines. You will prepare and check compounded sterile products, collaborate closely with prescribers and nursing staff on therapy plans, and counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, and adherence strategies. Additional duties involve coordinating treatment logistics, managing medication inventories, documenting clinical interventions, and supporting quality assurance and compliance initiatives within the pharmacy.

Daily interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals positions you as a key clinical resource, driving continuous process improvements and enhancing patient care standards.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent and unrestricted California pharmacist license
• Expertise in compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations according to USP and regulatory standards
• Experience in infusion therapy, specialty pharmacy, or clinical/hospital pharmacy settings preferred
• Knowledge of insurance prior authorization protocols, specialty medication reimbursement, and patient assistance programs is advantageous
• Strong clinical judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to patient safety and quality care
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient counseling
• Familiarity with CareTend pharmacy system preferred
