Provide clinical pharmacy expertise in an acute care hospital setting with a focus on med-surg, ICU, and women’s health. This contract opportunity calls for a licensed Arkansas pharmacist to serve as an Interim Pharmacist for approximately two months or until a permanent hire is secured. The schedule is flexible within the following coverage window: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., no weekend or on-call duties required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Perform intravenous (IV) compounding and preparation according to hospital protocols
  • Supervise and provide oversight to pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth workflow
  • Collaborate with health care team members in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Utilize Medhost order entry system, with onsite training available
  • Oversee medication distribution through Pyxis ES automated system (experience not required)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacy license in Arkansas required
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, especially in acute care settings
  • Competence in order verification, IV compounding, and technician supervision
  • Ability to adapt to clinical priorities and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Location:

  • Forrest City, Arkansas (within a local hospital environment)

Additional Details:

  • 2 to 3 days of orientation and training to familiarize with site systems and protocols
  • Pharmacy support staff assist with Pyxis refills, medication expiration checks, crash cart maintenance, and unit dose management
