Director of Pharmacy - Albion, Michigan

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations at a hospital facility in Marshall, MI. This role offers a key leadership position overseeing inpatient pharmacy services with a focus on stabilizing operations and staff accountability. The start date is flexible, with availability as soon as the week of July 27th, and coverage needed until August 4th, 2026.

Responsibilities include managing a team of 6 pharmacists and 8 technicians, supervising daily activities, staffing, financial oversight, and participating in meetings. The role also involves overseeing sterile compounding in compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards and supporting pharmacy technicians handling sterile and hazardous compounding, Pyxis automation, and discrepancy resolution. This position requires occasional weekend and on-call coverage depending on staff availability.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Valid Michigan pharmacist license is required
• Proven leadership skills with inpatient pharmacy experience
• General knowledge of sterile compounding, including USP 797 and 800 guidelines
• Familiarity with Cerner order entry system preferred; training available
• Experience with Pyxis automation beneficial; training provided

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
• Weekend and on-call duties as needed
