An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy with possible Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities at a behavioral health facility. This contract role supports inpatient pharmacy operations with a focus on behavioral health services, requiring active Pennsylvania pharmacist licensure.
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, plus on-call duties
- Weekend order verification from home twice daily (9:00 AM and 9:00 PM, approximately 1 hour each)
Start Date: ASAP to cover until permanent hire (current director departs March 13)
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as the primary pharmacist overseeing inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with clinical teams
- Manage medication ordering, stock Omnicell automation units, and provide oversight of inventory
- Lead new pharmacy development initiatives including initial setup, pharmacy policies, and procedure implementation
- Utilize EPIC for order entry with required onsite training
- Support and maintain site automation through Omnicell; experience preferred but training is available
- Operate without pharmacy technician support, demonstrating strong independent management skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania pharmacist licensure is required
- Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy settings, preferably within behavioral health
- Knowledge of EPIC order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
- Strong leadership capabilities and ability to develop policies and procedures from the ground up
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and weekend remote order verification
