Director of Pharmacy in Amsterdam, NY

An opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to lead the pharmacy department in a 250-bed community hospital located in Amsterdam, NY, approximately one hour from Albany. This position offers either an interim or permanent placement, accommodating candidates seeking flexible contract arrangements or a long-term leadership role.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all pharmacy operations within the hospital, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Lead a team of pharmacists and support staff to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care.
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and patient safety.
• Manage pharmacy budget, inventory, and procurement processes.
• Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with eligibility to practice in New York State.
• Proven experience in pharmacy leadership, preferably as a Director of Pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations, and standards.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a community hospital setting.
