An Interim Pharmacy Director opportunity is available at a well-established hospital in Marshall, MI. This role requires a licensed Michigan pharmacist with strong leadership skills and inpatient experience, including a general understanding of sterile compounding. The position involves managing pharmacy operations, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for a team of 6 pharmacists and 8 technicians.
  • Manage staffing schedules and participate in recruitment efforts to strengthen the pharmacy team.
  • Supervise pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding compliant with USP 797 and 800 standards.
  • Oversee financial aspects related to the pharmacy department.
  • Represent the pharmacy services within the hospital and to external parties.
  • Participate in meetings and potentially cover weekends or on-call shifts when necessary.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Must hold a valid Michigan pharmacist license.
  • Proven leadership experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling protocols.
  • Experience with Cerner order entry system preferred; training is available.
  • Knowledge of Pyxis automation system; training provided.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Weekend and on-call coverage as needed based on staff availability.

Additional Information:

  • The position starts as early as the week of July 27th, with coverage required until August 4, 2026.
  • Professional dress code is required.
  • Located near Detroit Airport for convenient travel.
