Director of Pharmacy | Bedford, Virginia

An urgent opening is available for a licensed Virginia pharmacist to serve as a working Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a newly established behavioral hospital. This hospital is a joint venture focused on delivering specialized care, and this role is essential to ensuring seamless pharmaceutical services.

Location:

• Bedford, VA (with the primary work site in Lynchburg, VA)

Employment Type:

• Contract position, 13 weeks minimum, with potential for temp-to-hire

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform dispensing duties accurately and efficiently
• Provide clinical consultation to physicians and nursing staff
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and daily pharmacy operations
• Manage restocking of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license
• Experience working as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) preferred
• Background in hospital or behavioral health pharmacy practice highly valued
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
