A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy working as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a new behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This role offers the chance to shape pharmacy operations in a setting that supports mental health care, combining clinical expertise with management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the working PIC, overseeing day-to-day pharmacy operations.
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
- Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Manage and provide oversight to pharmacy technicians.
- Restock and maintain automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist with current credentials.
- Experience working as a Pharmacist in Charge or in a leadership role within a hospital pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health pharmacy practices preferred.
- Ability to manage both clinical and operational duties effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Schedule:
- Monday through Friday.
- Day shift hours.
