A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy/working Pharmacist in Charge at a newly established behavioral hospital. This contract role offers the chance to shape pharmacy operations in a small, specialized healthcare setting. The hospital represents a joint venture and is seeking an experienced pharmacy professional ready to begin as soon as possible.

Location:

• Lynchburg, VA

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the working Pharmacist in Charge, providing hands-on dispensing and direct patient care
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy
• Oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow and compliance
• Manage restocking of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and inventory control
• Support pharmacy operations and protocols in line with hospital standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with experience in a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy-in-Charge role
• Background in behavioral health pharmacy services preferred
• Strong leadership skills to manage staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of medication distribution systems including ADCs
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
