An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a hospital facility in Marshall, MI. This role focuses on providing strong leadership, operational oversight, and staff supervision in an inpatient setting with responsibilities that include sterile compounding oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and accountability to a pharmacy staff consisting of 6 pharmacists and 8 technicians
  • Oversee inpatient pharmacy operations including sterile compounding compliant with USP 797 and 800 standards
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and on-call responsibilities as needed
  • Facilitate staff meetings and collaborate on financial and administrative tasks
  • Ensure smooth operation of order entry via Cerner (training available) and automation with Pyxis
  • Stabilize pharmacy operations and lead recruitment efforts in partnership with organizational representatives

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Michigan pharmacist with a strong background in leadership and inpatient pharmacy practice
  • General knowledge of sterile compounding and experience managing USP 797 and 800 environments
  • Familiarity with Cerner order entry system and Pyxis automation preferred though training is available
  • Ability to provide accountability, staff motivation, and operational stability
  • Experience overseeing a multi-disciplinary staff in a healthcare setting

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional weekend or on-call coverage if required

Additional Details:

  • Professional dress code expected
  • Located near Detroit airport for easy travel access
  • Contract position beginning late July with coverage through early August
