An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a hospital facility in Marshall, MI. This role focuses on providing strong leadership, operational oversight, and staff supervision in an inpatient setting with responsibilities that include sterile compounding oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and accountability to a pharmacy staff consisting of 6 pharmacists and 8 technicians
- Oversee inpatient pharmacy operations including sterile compounding compliant with USP 797 and 800 standards
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and on-call responsibilities as needed
- Facilitate staff meetings and collaborate on financial and administrative tasks
- Ensure smooth operation of order entry via Cerner (training available) and automation with Pyxis
- Stabilize pharmacy operations and lead recruitment efforts in partnership with organizational representatives
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Michigan pharmacist with a strong background in leadership and inpatient pharmacy practice
- General knowledge of sterile compounding and experience managing USP 797 and 800 environments
- Familiarity with Cerner order entry system and Pyxis automation preferred though training is available
- Ability to provide accountability, staff motivation, and operational stability
- Experience overseeing a multi-disciplinary staff in a healthcare setting
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional weekend or on-call coverage if required
