Lead pharmacy operations in an inpatient behavioral health setting as an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy. This contract role supports a facility in Council Bluffs, IA, and offers an opportunity to influence positive workflow improvements until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is appointed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Manage medication dispensing and inventory control systems.
- Utilize Omnicell technology for efficient medication repackaging and restocking.
- Run restock reports and assist with loading drugs into automated dispensing machines.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to optimize patient care and medication management.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Iowa Pharmacist license (mandatory).
- Experience with Omnicell medication management systems preferred.
- Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL techniques.
- Basic knowledge of automated drug loading processes and generating restock reports.
- Strong leadership and communication skills in a behavioral health or inpatient pharmacy environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- Approximately 6 hours per day
